Who is this for?:

Scientists and teacher-researchers, in the Humanities and Social Sciences fields, wishing to improve their fluency when speaking in public at conferences, meetings, seminars, debates, etc

Objectives:

Acquire the language to express yourself confidently, fluently and efficiently in a professional presentation
• Express yourself when presenting in the social sciences or humanities domains;
• Increase the impact of your presentations or interventions in meetings;
• Focus your message, engage attention and captivate your audience;
• Give a boost to professional events: meetings, seminars, conferences, conventions, etc.

Description :

• Identifying the impact you want;
• Varying language, gestures and your voice;
• Engaging and holding audience attention;
• Structuring your presentation: the introduction, the objectives, the summary and the conclusion;
• Using signpost language in English;
• Understanding and answering questions from the floor;
• Understanding the importance of “body language”;
• Adapting the message to the audience and to your own objectives;
• Creating a poster for scientific or technical colloquiums;
• Acquiring and understanding how to use language specific to your domain of research.

Upstream of the seminar, each participant is asked to prepare a presentation, which will be worked on during the course. The course programme is very pragmatic and alternates theoretical and practical work.

Each participant receives advice and glossary for his.her future presentations
