“Añoranza”, a short film about the challenges international students face when moving to a new country

The Université de Lyon supports the initiatives of its member and associate institutions to improve the well-being of students. Discover “Añoranza”, a short film made by a group of international students for a film therapy project with the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 health service.

During the 2021-22 academic year, a group of international students from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 worked with the University Health Service (SSU Lyon 1) and the La Septième Voix association to make a short film for a film therapy project. In order to support students in their well-being and to encourage better management of their mental health, the Université de Lyon presents “Añoranza”, the result of this collaboration.

This short film is aimed at all students, regardless of where they are enrolled, and deals with the challenges of moving to a new country and settling in:

Mirella is a Venezuelan student who has just arrived in France to study. Her enthusiasm is soon confronted with practical problems that she tries to resolve. She also finds it difficult to adapt as a foreign student.
