Arqus: 2020-2022 call for applications "Mentoring Stays for Postdocs & Doctoral Researchers"

The Université de Lyon, within the framework of the Arqus European University Alliance, is launching a call for applications addressed to its Early Stage Researchers (PostDoc & Doctoral Candidates) in order to implement mentoring partnerships with experienced researchers from one of the Arqus partners.

The Arqus European University Alliance brings together the universities of Bergen, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon, Padova and Vilnius. It is funded by the European Commission. The principal ambition of the Arqus Alliance is to act jointly as a laboratory for institutional learning from which to move forward in the design, testing and implementation of an innovative model for deep inter-university cooperation.


PURPOSE OF THE CALL

High quality mentoring of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers is one of the main objectives of the Arqus career development scheme.

To this end, it has established a series of mentoring and support measures. One of their key elements are mentoring stays at partner universities, which are a key part of a programme, offering high-quality mentoring to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.

Arqus will support the stays of  9 doctoral and postdoctoral researchers at Arqus partner universities to have personal mentoring sessions with experienced researchers and learn more about their research environment.

Grant applicants must be part of at least one of the following universities: Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne and École normale supérieure de Lyon (ENS).

FUNDING 

Arqus covers the expenses (real costs) for 3 (stay) plus 2 (travel time) days with a total funding of max. € 1.000 per person.

CALENDAR AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Deadline: No specific closing date. Interested applicants can submit their proposal, using the attached application form.
  • Results: UdL AL6 Administrative coordinator will inform the granted applicants within one month after their application.
  • Eligible dates for mentoring stays: from November 1, 2020 to September 30, 2022.
