Chloé Jacquet and Annaëlle Deshayes help the French women's rugby team get closer to the World Cup

Two students from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 are taking part in the fall tour of the French women's national rugby team in preparation for the Rugby World Cup to be held in New Zealand in 2022.

The 2021 fall tour is well and truly underway for the France women's national rugby union team!
Chloé Jacquet and Annaëlle Deshayes, a Science and Technology of Sport and Exercise (Sciences et techniques des activités physiques et sportives – STAPS) student and an first-year Computer Science Licence student at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, are among the 36 players who have been selected to play against South Africa and New Zealand this month.

The French won their match against South Africa on November 6 in Vannes, with an impressive 46-3 victory! A week later, the French team scored six tries against the Black Ferns, the reigning world champions, including one by #12, Chloé Jacquet, a student at the STAPS Training and research unit at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.

The Université de Lyon would like to congratulate the two high-level athletes and wishes them the best of luck for the last match of the fall tour which will be held on Saturday, November 20, in Castres.
