Free Vélo’v, the new bike lending service for scholarship students in the Métropole de Lyon

The Métropole de Lyon has recently launched Free Vélo’v, a new service that recovers and entirely restores bikes through the circular economy, in order to be loaned to scholarship students and young people in reinsertion.

10,000 18 TO 25 YEAR-OLDS SOON TO BE EQUIPPED WITH A BIKE FOR FREE!

Through its new Free Vélo’v service, officially launched in the press on October 19, 2021, the Métropole de Lyon intends to develop the use of bikes throughout its region.
Set up in partnership with France's Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME - Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Énergie), this service also aims to promote the circular economy, with wholly reconditioned bikes and the insertion of people who are distanced from employment.


HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM FREE VÉLO'V?

  • You are a scholarship student or young adult in the process of social and professional integration, aged between 18 and 25,
  • You live in the Métropole de Lyon area.


The service will be available from November 8, 2021. It is already possible to reserve a bike that you can keep for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.

Upon delivery of the bike, the beneficiary will receive an anti-theft device and each bike will be marked using an engraving system.
