“Sustainable Campus in a Sustainable City” label for the Université de Lyon

On The December 18, 2019

As part of its Energy and Ecological Transition strategy, the Université de Lyon has joined forces with the Crous de Lyon, the Métropole de Lyon and Saint-Étienne Métropole to respond to the Agir Ensemble (Act Together) call for projects.

This partnership has been awarded the “Sustainable Campus in Sustainable City” label for its action plan built around three main themes:

• Encouraging people to opt for eco-friendly commuting;
• Working towards zero waste;
• The climate.

Awareness-raising activities and workshops are planned for campuses throughout the year in order to encourage students and staff members to take action against global warming and the depletion of natural resources.

This label was awarded by the steering committee members including the AVUF, the CPU, the CGE, the ADEME, the Crous and the MGEN, in collaboration with the Refedd and the Cirses, and with the support of the Banque des territoires and the CASDEN.

The AGIR ENSEMBLE (ACT TOGETHER) scheme has been set up to promote local initiatives that help develop sustainable campus development within sustainable areas.
