As part of the 2019 Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights), from December 5 to 8, the Université de Lyon is launching a call for artistic creations to all its students. This call will enable the UdL to be part of Lyon’s major events, and encourage its students' creative capabilities.

The Université de Lyon’s “Festival of Lights” artistic project is mainly a participatory project. It is led in collaboration with around a hundred volunteers, including students, researchers, teachers and the citizens of Lyon. In that sense, it is taking an experimental approach.

In order to keep track of the project, to present and include the collective creative processes and highlight the different stages of design and creation, the Université de Lyon wishes to invite one or more students to:

  • Gather information (by means of interviews, writings, videos, photos, drawings, reports, infographics, etc.);
  • Design and create a “corpus”, the nature of which is at the applicants’ discretion.

A budget of 3,000 euros will be allocated to the selected project.

Application dates

  • Applications are to be submitted no later than July 5, 2019;
  • The selection committee will select a project between July 8 and July 17, 2019;
  • The final corpus is to be presented no later than February 2020.
