One of the Campus Arts winning projects is to present its creation

From June 13, 2019 to June 15, 2019

The La Botte d’Or group, winner of the 2019 call for Campus Arts projects funded by IDEXLYON and accompanied by the Nid de Poule theater, as part of the Spotlight Prize, has completed its project. “Un Cœur à aimer toute la terre ou Le Procès de Don Juan” will be presented from June 13 to 15, 2019 at the ENS de Lyon’s Kantor theater.

One night, in a run-down Château in Normandy, three women (former conquests of Don Juan) are summoned and brought together by the Duchess of Vaubricourt. The Duchess wants to hold a trial for the seducer, and seek revenge by sentencing him to marry and remain faithful to one of his most recent victims: her goddaughter, Angélique.

But this time, stronger in unison, it would seem that women are no longer fooled, and discover the real reasons for the charges against Don Juan, which go beyond mere “heartache” and “infidelity”.

What if the women stopped arguing amongst themselves, and realized the severity of Don Juan's violence, of his grasp, of his abuse, and decided to join forces, and finally seek freedom? What if the stage became the place of their emancipation, their liberation and their empowerment, in order to conduct the true and inevitable trial of Don Juan?
