PoliCité seminar: studying the relationship between the police and the population in Vaulx-en-Velin

On The June 23, 2021

From 6:30 to 8 PM

The Science Shop has invited a researcher, a social worker and a local member of the PoliCité collective to come and to discuss the study conducted in East Lyon as part of a seminar on June 23, 2021.

For the past four years, the PoliCité collective has been conducting “participatory action research” to study the relationship between law enforcement agencies and the general public, particularly young people, and how they are depicted. The seminar will include sociologists, a social worker and young inhabitants of Vaulx-en-Velin, all of whom have worked together to identify and analyze these relationships and to understand the sociological mechanisms involved.

This study has resulted in a comic strip, as well as several articles, consensus conferences, presentations in schools or within the network of public service schools, at UNESCO, and much more.
