“Telling the story of science, imagining the future”: the 2019 Science Fair call for projects

From February 8, 2019 to April 28, 2019

The first Science Fair in 1991 was initiated by Hubert Curien and organized by the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation. It hosts thousands of original and inclusive events in France and abroad for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The dates for the 28th Science Fair have been announced. It will be held from October 5 to 13, 2019, and its nation-wide theme will be “Telling the story of science, imagining the future”.

Science helps us understand who we are and the world around us. With the emergence of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and genetic tools, science plays a part in transforming our daily lives and society. It also provides solutions for the challenges we are facing, such as preserving biodiversity.

Scientists have important messages for us, both in the present and in the future. They provide forward-looking and positive perspectives, showing us how science can bring hope, creativity, ingenuity, imagination and innovation to design and create a better future and a new world.

Researchers, doctoral students, engineers, lab technicians, facilitators and mediators: you are being invited to answer the call for participation by April 28, 2019.

This is your opportunity to share your passion for science with the public, to present the techniques and innovations from cutting-edge research and offer tours of laboratories, and natural and industrial sites. In a world where false information spreads faster than ever, this is also an opportunity to raise public awareness of science and current issues in science.
