The Science Fair returns for its 28th edition, from October 3 to 13, 2019

This year’s Science Fair in the City of Lyon and the Rhône County looks promising, with a rich program focusing on digital technologies, space, health and the environment. Through over 300 activities organized within laboratories, research institutions, organizations, libraries, businesses, museums, communities, and many more… Come and discover science, question it, experience it!

Talk about science, visualize the future

‘Talk about science, visualize the future’ is the national theme of this must-see, wonderful autumnal event, to better understand our world today, to retrace the world of yesterday and to discover the world of tomorrow!

More than 300 activities are to be discovered in 26 towns and cities in the Lyon area, and more broadly in the Rhône County, for a period of ten days, from October 3 to 13, 2019.

The program

With 60% of the program consisting of new events, all free and open to everyone, this 28th edition will focus on:

  • New technologies;
  • Space exploration and general astronomy (celebrating the 50 years since man first walked on the moon);
  • Environmental protection;
  • Health.

As in previous years, various laboratories and research institutes are participating in the event. This year, museums, libraries and media libraries are also contributing for the first time.

Five Science Villages with a whole host of other surprises

  • The new Science Village: the Musée des Confluences is hosting the CNRS to celebrate its 80th anniversary;
  • Science Village – A Confluence organized at the Université catholique de Lyon (the UCLy);
  • ENS de Lyon’s Science Village;
  • IUT Lyon 1’s Science Village;
  • The Monts du Lyonnais Science Village.
