Lecture: “How can businesses adopt digital technology while also being environmentally friendly?”

On The March 6, 2019

On March 6, 2019, the Université de Lyon and the Métropole de Lyon are co-organizing a lecture about digital transformation in companies as part of the Global Industrie exhibition.

This lecture, organized in partnership with the Métropole de Lyon, will focus on the relationship between digitalization and sustainable development in companies.

Digital technology provides brand-new opportunities for sustainable development within companies: energy efficiency, the dematerialization of procedures, telecommuting, new methods for production, sales, recruitment and training, etc. But producing and using such technologies also involves a substantial environmental cost (production, power usage and recycling). While these technologies can substantially improve quality of life in the workplace, they also involve risks if they are used excessively. Between risks and opportunities, this lecture will explore how companies can benefit from digital technology in a balanced, sustainable way.

Jean Pouly, founder of Econum, will hold the lecture at the same time as the Disrupt’Campus lecture series for the general public by the Université de Lyon.
