CURSUS + project launch

On The April 11, 2019

The Université de Lyon officially launched its CURSUS + project in the presence of the National Research Agency on April 11.

As part of the third phase of the Investments for the Future Program (PIA3) and following the French academic model’s latest developments, the National Research Agency announced a call for “New university programs” projects. The Université de Lyon was selected in July 2018 for its CURSUS + project.

This project involves a fundamental change to undergraduate university education, which mainly focuses on personalizing the curriculum and offering more diverse education programs, to better understand the diversity of its audience. It was presented to the general public at a launch meeting, which focused on two key points:

• An outline of the project and the National Research Agency’s role;

• A focus on the three experimental programs due to start at the beginning of the next academic year:

  1. Organizing the Faculté de droit Julie-Victoire Daubié license into modules at the Université Louis Lumière – Lyon 2;
  2. Converting the Université Claude Bernard – Lyon 1’s initial study programs into qualifications;
  3. “Contrat réussite”, obtaining the bachelor's degree in law from the Université Jean Moulin – Lyon 3 in 4 years.
