The Economy Days are back from November 17 to 19, 2020

From November 17, 2020 to November 19, 2020

The Fondation pour l'Université de Lyon is organizing the 13th Economy Days (Journées de l’économie – Jéco) on November 17, 18 and 19, 2020. This year’s event will be held exclusively online.

The Economy Days program is being revised in response to the new lockdown

The Economy Days is entirely free of charge and open to all, subject to registration. It offers people from all walks of life the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the world around them by discussing a wide variety of current topics from an economic perspective. It is also an opportunity to learn more about economic and social phenomena through a national reference event.

This year, the discussions and round tables have been organized around the theme “2020 – Working together to reinvent progress”. The program will be particularly structured around future challenges related to the current economic and health crisis.

The topics addressed are currently all over the news and dominating the headlines:

  • Who will pay the enormous debt incurred by all of the States?
  • Did Europe take a decisive step forward on July 21, 2020 by agreeing on a new €750 billion recovery plan?
  • Has transgenerational solidarity amounted to “sacrificing youth” when it comes to the health of older people?
  • What does this new challenge mean for democracy, and what can we learn from this health crisis?

A number of lectures are recorded before the Economy Days (you can access the list by following the link below). You can also send your questions.
