Open Day at the Université de Lyon’s Innovation Pre-Factory

On The October 17, 2018

The Innovation Pre-Factory in Lyon is celebrating its first anniversary by hosting an Open Day on October 17, from noon to 6:30 PM.

The Innovation Pre-Factory opens its doors to the public for its first anniversary

The Innovation Pre-Factory opened in October 2017 and is a place that fosters creativity and innovation. It also encourages collaborative, cross-disciplinary work on projects.

This is why the staff of the Innovation Factory is encouraging not only students and faculty staff from the Université de Lyon, but also socio-economic players, to participate in creative and collaborative events throughout the Open Day:

  • A workshop where participants decorate the building’s windows to evoke innovation with the help of an artist and graphical facilitator;
  • A workshop where visitors can think up names for the three new Innovation Factory buildings using methods for creative thinking.

The Université de Lyon’s Innovation Pre-Factory located on the LyonTech-la Doua campus in Villeurbanne

This innovative, collaborative and customizable 3750 sq. ft. workspace includes:

  • A modular creativity room with fully-mobile equipment that hosts workshops, seminars, meetings, etc.;
  • A prototyping fablab managed by a student organization, with a wide variety of machines (3D printers, machining workshop, etc.).

A similar Innovation Pre-Factory has been built in Saint-Étienne in 2016. It will celebrate its third anniversary in March 2019, during the Biennale Internationale du Design.
