Beelys (Boosting Entrepreneurial Spirit in Lyon and Saint-Étienne), the student entrepreneurship center, celebrated its 2017/2018 launch party on Tuesday 7 November in the Grand Amphithéâtre of the UdL. Over 300 partners, entrepreneurs and students gathered for the presentation of the Beelys programs and the graduation ceremony for entrepreneurs from the D2E (Student Entrepreneur Diploma) class of 2016/2017.

The evening was introduced by Khaled Bouabdallah, the President of the Université de Lyon, who highlighted the dynamism of the entrepreneurial projects led by a growing number of students at the Université de Lyon. His speech echoed that of Alain Asquin, the director of Beelys and Soria Mekika, the assistant director of Beelys, who wished to reiterate that Beelys was for all students at the Université de Lyon: "We help all young people learn, no matter what course they are on. "

Pascale Ceccaldi, President of the Beelys Partner Club, spoke of the active involvement of Beelys' partners: "We gather regularly, not only to teach these future entrepreneurs, but to learn from them and their experiences."

Members of the Beelys team and entrepreneurs then took to the floor to speak about their experience of the various schemes: Simon Nedellec, the founder of Little Bill and winner of the 2016 Idea Challenge; Loic Asin, the founder of Krowdis and a recent D2E graduate, Eléonore Blondeau, the founder of Clean Cup and winner of the 2017 JEA Entrepreneurs competition; and many more.

To conclude the event, Eric Maurincomme, the director of INSA Lyon and UdL Vice President responsible for innovation and entrepreneurship, awarded 35 students their diplomas from the 2016/2017 D2E.

The head of the graduating D2E class and co-founder of La Cordée, Michael Schwartz, passed the baton onto the new head of the 2017/2018 class and founder of PDG d'ETIC, Cécile Galoselva, who spoke about her career and experience as an entrepreneur: "The path to entrepreneurship requires you to embark upon things in your own life, as well as in society".
