Eiffel Excellence grants: 8% of scholarship holders from the Université de Lyon's institutions

Eiffel Excellence grants were established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and are coordinated by Campus France. Its objective is to attract the best foreign students to graduate courses at the master and doctoral level.

A census of Eiffel scholarship holders from UdL member institutions* showed that the award rate for master's scholarships is 6% (19 scholarships awarded out of 309 in total) and for doctorates was 24% (9 scholarships out of 38 awarded in France).The Université de Lyon’s doctorate program is at the heart of the Eiffel system.

The 28 UdL recipients come from 16 countries, including Brazil, which is represented by 4 students, the rest of Latin America, with 6 students from 3 countries, 5 African countries with 7 students, 2 Asian countries with 5 students, 2 Middle-Eastern countries with 3 students, 2 European countries with 2 students, and Canada, represented by 1 student.

The UdL welcomes the results for 2021-2022, which attest to its international attractiveness and visibility, in line with its international strategy.
