As part of its international collaborations, the Université de Lyon is developing close relations with economic stakeholders in Brazil.

Given its strong ties with Brazil and its network of academic, scientific and institutional partners, the Université de Lyon is developing partnerships with international economic stakeholders.

During the Butantan Institute’s visit to France, the UdL was asked to consider developments in the field of cancer research. Research activities between the two organizations are currently ongoing. On this basis, the Director-General of the Butantan Institute, Mr. Dimas Covas and the Director of institutional strategy at the Butantan Institute and Advisor to the FAPESP, and Professor Machado, were welcomed by UdL on October 10, 2022.

The Butantan Institute is the state of São Paulo’s research institute in the field of the research and production of vaccines (immunobiology), and includes a production unit dedicated to the Coronavac. It has a long-term tradition of cooperation with France.

The developments envisaged by the UdL concern oncology. A meeting was organized with the Cancer Research Center of Lyon – CRCL, in the presence of Patrick Mehlen and his teams.
