The new Coop-AURA-SHS Network for European Social Sciences project engineering

On The February 5, 2021

The Coop-AURA-SHS network brings together all those involved in supporting social sciences researchers in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The aim is to enable them to share their expertise and improve their European project engineering practices.

The Coop-AURA-SHS regional network was officially launched on November 24, 2020, and is funded by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes’s 2020 Pack Ambition International scheme.

It was established through an initial collaboration between the Université Lumière Lyon 2, the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and the ENS de Lyon. Today, it brings together fourteen higher education and research institutions: the Université Lumière Lyon 2, the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, the ENS de Lyon, the Université Jean Monnet, the Université Clermont-Auvergne, the Université Grenoble Alpes, the Université Savoie Mont Blanc, UCLy, Sciences Po Lyon, the Université de Lyon, the Rhône-Auvergne Delegation of the CNRS, the Grenoble École de Management as well as the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and the Hospices civils de Lyon, both represented by their joint subsidiary, Lyon Ingénierie Projets.

November 24 was also an opportunity to draw up a strategy based on two main objectives:

  • Encourage the local social sciences research community to take part in 2021/22 European calls for projects;
  • Help institutions develop their skills in project submission support, in particular by establishing relationships with leading cross-border universities.

To achieve these objectives, the network is now able to rely on relationships established with Horizon Europe’s French national contact point, local European specialists and the European project centers at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich.

A first regional information session entitled “Europe and Social Sciences” will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021. This information session will focus on the European calls for projects and will be held 100% online.
