The Université de Lyon hosted a Brazilian delegation from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the University of São Paulo (USP) on December 7, 2021.

The Université de Lyon welcomed an official delegation led by Marco Antonio Zago, President of the FAPESP, accompanied by Vahan Agopyan, President of the University of São Paulo and Valmor Tricoli, the Vice-President for International Cooperation, as part of its collaboration with Brazil, one of the key areas of its international strategy.

The delegation visited France to meet with key players in the field of academic and scientific cooperation. The delegation took the opportunity to highlight the Brazilian partners’ commitment to collaborations between the members of the UdL and the higher education and research institutions of the State of São Paulo, in particular the USP. This was also an opportunity to take stock of existing collaborations, both in training and in research. The visit continued with an official welcome by Eric Carpano, President of the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and Nathalie Dompnier, President of the Université Lumière Lyon 2.

The partners agreed on the opportunity to further develop their relations by establishing facilities for high-quality communication between researchers and research professors, with a view to generating new projects.
