The Université de Lyon receives the visit of its partner in Brazil, the University of Sao Paulo (USP)

The delegation of the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Brazil, historical partner of the Université de Lyon in the framework of the International Alliance, was welcomed on Monday, September 23 by Presidents Khaled Bouabdallah of the Université de Lyon, Jacques Comby from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and Frédéric Fleury from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, mentioning a fruitful cooperation.

The Brazilian delegation composed of Vahan Agopyan, Rector of the University of Sao Paulo and Valmor Tricoli, President of the USP AUCANI International Agency, was welcomed in Lyon to strengthen links between the University of Sao Paulo and the Université de Lyon. This visit follows the signature of the agreement between the two entities on November 28, 2018.

Since then, the partners have worked together to launch the UdL-USP Joint Call for research projects by research professors and researchers to support the most innovative and ambitious research activities. This call made its results on September 30, 2019 to the 26 leaders who submitted a project. The joint commission decided to support 6 projects for 3 years. The University of Lyon will finance these projects for a total amount of €150,000 from IDEXLYON financing.
The delegation's visit also followed the 1st workshop of the Print/CAPES internationalization program held in Sao Paulo from September 9 to 11, 2019, whose Lyon representation was made by Peter Wirtz, Vice-President for research, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and Guillaume Rousset, Vice-President for international affairs, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (see photo). This event allowed to present the different internationalization strategies of the USP and its partner universities.
