In conjunction with the Entretiens Jacques Cartier, which were held from November 4 to 6, 2019, the Université de Lyon and the University of Ottawa renewed their partnership by amending the framework agreement which they signed five years ago.

Collaborations between the two partners have become more intense in recent years, and have produced a large number of research and training initiatives. The two universities have established several high-potential cooperation initiatives. In 2019, the universities improved support for programs dedicated to student and researcher mobility, particularly in the form of master's research internships.

In addition, partnerships have been significantly expanded in Canada, thanks to the establishment of the joint CNRS-Université de Lyon office in Ottawa last January, which is part of the CNRS “North America” Office in Washington, D.C.

The University of Ottawa has been a member of the Université de Lyon's International Alliance since 2014.
