[PUBLIC EVENT] The Students Welcome Desk returns in September to support international students!

From September 2, 2024 to December 13, 2024

Every year at the start of the academic year, the Université de Lyon sets up its Students Welcome Desk to greet international students and help with their their back-to-school procedures. In Lyon, the 2024 edition will be extended from September 4 to December 13.

For three months and a half, the Students Welcome Desk team informs and guides international students on all the administrative procedures, in particular those relating to the student residence permit, but also on all the assistance and support available, thanks to the Student Assistance web portal. The main objective is to help them get the university year off to a good start, and facilitate their day-to-day life in the Lyon Saint-Étienne area.

Several tools are available to international students to better understand and carry out these administrative procedures:

  • A hotline to inform, advise, redirect to the dedicated service(s), or even make an appointment for personalized support:

  • A reception and physical support space adapted to the needs of students (access to rights, health, housing, transport, precarious resources)

Please note: the physical reception area is by appointment only. Appointments are offered to students who need it, after calling the hotline.

  • A bilingual web portal including resources, contacts in our institutions, procedure sheets, etc. as well as a Facebook page dedicated to live information during the device.

The Students Welcome Desk also exists in Saint-Étienne!

The Saint-Étienne SWD team will be available to provide you with information and support you with questions related to residence permits, health, housing or even student and cultural life in Saint-Étienne. Thematic workshops and sessions will take place at La Comète in Saint-Étienne.
