The call for projects to participate in the 2022 festival is open! All institutions, laboratories, researchers, professors and students who have a project they would like to propose for next year's festival are invited to respond to this call between August 24 and September 17, 2021.

Among the promotional and outreach activities of the École Urbaine de Lyon, the Anthropocene School week is the highlight of the season, boasting a jam-packed week of activities and events. This fourth edition will take place from January 24 to 30, 2022 in the city of Lyon. Along the lines of the three previous editions, it will consist of seven days/evenings, open to the general public, to debate, discuss and build proposals through seminars, public classes, conferences, workshops, lectures, radio sets, screenings, etc.

The École Urbaine de Lyon will receive programming support from October Octopus.

The 2022 edition will be hybrid, in that it will be held both in the physical venue and online. The venue will include diverse formats designed to encourage discussions, workshops and encounters. The online event will enable all the chosen players to participate wherever they are and whatever the public health situation in play next winter.

It will address the following themes in particular: education, terraforming, space, atmosphere, air, Sapiens, heatwave, cosmogonies, frontiers of life sciences, gender, water, paleo-environmental. In 2021, it launched the “manifesto” format and depictions of space; in 2022 it will add the “argument” format with depictions of species.

The benefits of participating:

  • To provide a public forum for your knowledge and make it available to all audiences; a public forum which extends beyond the festival, as most of the events organized will be audio recorded and podcastable,
  • To provide the opportunity for encounters that may lead to constructive developments in your research and training,
  • To take advantage of the support provided by the École Urbaine de Lyon and the festival’s global media reach.
