China Scholarship Council (CSC) grants: 2022 Doctoral Campaign
From September 7, 2021 to September 30, 2021
The Université de Lyon (UdL) has signed an agreement with the China Scholarship Council (CSC). As part of this agreement, the CSC provides funding for 30 doctoral scholarships per year, enabling Chinese students to study for their PhD in one of the Université de Lyon’s member institutions.
As part of its international policy, the Université de Lyon organizes research and training activities on behalf of its members. The China Scholarship Council (CSC) provides the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) with student mobility scholarships for doctoral students. The Université de Lyon has signed an agreement with the CSC to grant around thirty doctoral scholarships each year to the Université de Lyon institutions. The amount of the CSC grant is €1,350 per month, for a maximum duration of 48 months.
In 2021, 15 applications received scholarships out of the 25 submitted, with funding ranging from 36 to 48 months.
The 2022 campaign was launched on July 23, 2021. Thesis directors and doctoral schools can now submit their topics, in French or English, by downloading the document templates (see opposite).
Chinese candidates will then be allowed to submit their application, highlighting their scientific and linguistic skills, to the thesis directors and then to the CSC as soon as the validated subjects are published on the CSC scholarship web page. Candidates must follow the program’s procedure, which can be downloaded at the top of this page.

- Be a citizen or permanent resident of China;
