Call for applications for the Research Ethics Review Board
From April 9, 2020 to May 17, 2020
The Research Ethics Review Board will be an integral part of the RESETIS platform. Its main task will be to provide an advisory opinion on research protocols to researchers and research professors at the Université de Lyon.
The need to validate protocols for non-interventional research involving human subjects (i.e., studies that are not subject to existing regulations) is becoming increasingly urgent. This is both in response to requests from funding agencies and publishers, and because laboratories are becoming increasingly concerned about ethical practices.
The Research Ethics Review Board will operate in addition to existing ethics committees and will be operationally attached to the UdL’s RESETIS (Social and Environmental Responsibility, Research Ethics and Scientific Integrity) platform.
- Scope of action: Non-interventional research on human subjects, i.e. outside the scope of the RIPH (research involving humans governed by the French Public Health Code – the French law known as the “Jardé” law) which must be assessed by IRBs (Insitutional Review Boards) and outside the scope of animal experimentation.
- Examples of the areas of expertise: psychology, virtual and augmented reality, sport and movement sciences, human physiology, human-machine interactions, robotics, educational sciences, cognitive sciences, neurosciences, language sciences, behavioral economics, human and social sciences, sociology of practices, engineering sciences, medical sciences, information technology, law, etc.
Applications must be submitted no later than May 17, 2020 to
