The Université de Lyon hosts the 2022 Congress of Research Ethics Committees

On The December 2, 2022

The Université de Lyon – via the CER-UdL (UdL Research Ethics Committee) – is hosting the Congress of Research Ethics Committees on December 2, 2022 in Lyon. This one-day event brings together the institutional Research Ethics Committees from all over France (academic, university-hospital and institutional structures) to discuss “Reviewing human research ethics: laws and practices”.

There is an increasing need for committees to render opinions on research protocols that are not subject to the regulations of the French Public Health Code (L 1121-1 et seq.). Ethical practice is a growing concern in laboratories, in connection with the evolution of research ethics and student training, but also in response to requests for ethical approval from funders or national and international publishers.

This day aims to bring together various players in research from all university departments, and to assess the existence and functioning of the various committees in the years since the Federation was created in 2018. Plenary sessions will be held in the morning to address legal and regulatory issues, through interactions between participants The afternoon will consist of interactive workshops with the aim of building consensus on one or more solutions to current challenges.
