Young Researcher Prize: apply before July 15, 2022

Each year, the Métropole de Lyon, in partnership with the Université de Lyon, awards young researchers prizes to promote scientific excellence in Lyon.
What is the Young Researcher Prize?
The Young Researcher Prize, created in the 1980s by the City of Lyon, aims to promote integrity and dedication in basic and applied research in the Université de Lyon’s laboratories. Around fifty young researchers apply each year.
The prizes are awarded to post-docs under the age of 40 in three themes that encompass all disciplinary fields:
Bio-health and society, Science and engineering, and Humanities and urbanity.
How to apply:
- Applicants must have completed at least part of their university course, thesis or postdoctoral training at one of the Université de Lyon’s universities, higher education institutions or research laboratories. The work presented must have been carried out in one of the listed institutions.
- Applicants must be private individuals.
- Applicants must be under the age of 40 (this does not apply to applicants whose career has led them to return to university to complete a doctoral thesis).
- To enter, applicants must have defended their thesis between May 1, 2015, and May 1, 2021.
- Applicants may enter a second time.
Prize amount:
The city of Lyon will award three prizes of €5,000 each.
The jury can also award a “Jury’s Favorite” without any prize money.
