Eight institutions of the Université de Lyon are cited in the THE 2023 ranking

46 French institutions are cited among the ranks of the“THE World University Ranking”, with 8 institutions from the Université de Lyon among them.

The world ranking of universities carried out by the Times Higher Education magazine lists – in 2023 – 1,799 universities in 104 countries, making it the most robust and diverse university ranking in the world.
The table is based on 13 performance indicators which measure an institution’s performance in four areas: teaching, research, the transfer of knowledge and international perspectives.
 

For its 19th edition, the THE listing includes 46 French institutions, 8 of which are members or associated institutions of the Université de Lyon.

  • Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (rank no.401-500)
  • École des Mines de Saint-Étienne (rank no.501-600)
  • INSA Lyon (rank no.801-1000)
  • ENTPE (rank no.801-1000)
  • École Centrale de Lyon (rank no.1001-1200)
  • Université Lumière Lyon 2 (rank no.1201-1500)
  • Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (rank no.1501 and above)


With these eight nominations, the Université de Lyon represents more than 17% of French institutions ranked in the THE World University Ranking 2023.
