On The March 1, 2022

At its meeting on March 1st, 2022, the Université de Lyon’s Board of Directors elected Mr. Frank Debouck, former Director of Centrale Lyon, as its new President. He succeeds Luc Johann, temporary administrator of the UdL since December 1, 2021.

At the end of the Board of Directors meeting in which he was elected, Frank Debouck said:
Today, the Board of Directors has entrusted me with the task of transforming the territorial management of the university site. This transformation will take place in the next few months and will allow the COMUE (Communauté d’universités et établissements) to play a key role in developing a project for the benefit of all the site’s institutions.

Mr. Debouck outlined his ambitions for the Université de Lyon in his nomination paper, which he published on February 9:
Our university’s territorial coordination has demonstrated its commitment to collaborating on a number of ambitious projects for over a decade [...]. The COMUE must now redefine its objectives, its functioning, its status and its priorities.”
