Lyon elected number one city for students by L'Étudiant magazine for the second year in a row

On The September 5, 2018

The 2018-2019 ranking in L’Étudiant magazine has for the second year in a row designated Lyon as the best city for students, tied with Toulouse.

L’Étudiant magazine’s general ranking of cities for students is based on several criteria: attractiveness, education, student life, quality of life, employment opportunities, etc.

Lyon and Toulouse share the top of the podium, followed by Montpellier in second place, then Rennes, Grenoble and Bordeaux.

This is a great reward for Lyon, which had previously been designated “most welcoming city for students” in 2018 last April by the 2018 Student Life Observatory of the ImmoJeune website.

This first place is also representative of the collective dynamic for student life led by the Université de Lyon, the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Lyon and Saint-Étienne metropolises and all local and regional authorities.

Living well on the Université de Lyon's campuses

Quality of life is a major factor in the success of our students. To this end, the Université de Lyon spearheads a number of initiatives to ensure that students on every campus enjoy a high standard of living with access to a wide array of local services: housing, restaurants, healthcare, accessibility, sports, culture, documentation, etc.

Energizing and renovating campuses, improving student quality of life, providing students with what they need to flourish... These are the keys to their success throughout their education. Thanks to the site's student life policy, the Université de Lyon is reaffirming the attractiveness of its study programs, campuses and region.
