Éric Jourdan, new Director of the Esadse

The designer Éric Jourdan has been appointed Director of the École supérieure art et design de Saint-Étienne (Esadse), one of the Université de Lyon’s associated institutions. He assumed the position on July 1, 2020.

The Esadse’s Board of Directors met on June 19, 2020 and unanimously voted to appoint Éric Jourdan as Director of this Saint-Étienne establishment, home to almost 400 students.

Taking over from Claire Peillod (2017-2020), Éric Jourdan will implement “an ambitious strategy in the field of education by combining creation and innovation, and by forging links with the local economic community”.

The Université de Lyon warmly welcomes Éric Jourdan and wishes him every success in his new position.

The École supérieure d’art et design de Saint-Étienne is a Université de Lyon associated higher education institution supervised by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Esadse focuses on students’ individual projects and strongly encourages experimentation.

It boasts a major centre for research and promotion of design, the Cité du design, where the famous Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial is held.
