On The October 27, 2022

24 French institutions are ranked in the first edition of the global university sustainability ranking, published by QS on October 25, 2022. Among them, three institutions are members of the Université de Lyon.

The new ranking, proposed by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds, aims to “provide students with independent information on how well universities are performing in terms of sustainable development, and help universities track their progress in reducing GHGs.”

With more than 700 institutions included in this first edition, the rankings are based on several indicators split into two categories: Environmental Impact (aggregating three indicators: Sustainable Institutions, Sustainable Education and Sustainable Research) Social Impact (aggregating five indicators: Equality, Knowledge Exchange, Impact of Education, Employability and Opportunities, and Quality of Life).

Three UdL institutions are listed in the 2023 ranking:

  • Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1
  • Université Lumière Lyon 2
  • ENS de Lyon

Congratulations to all three of them!
