Covid-19: the UdL’s mental health services remain available during the lockdown period
Because taking care of your health goes beyond simply taking care of your body, we remind you that all our health services include healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, psychologists, etc.) who are available to help you take care of your mental health.
Contact the University Health Services (SSU)
To contact the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1’s health services (SSU Lyon 1) – Open to all students
For any questions, please call 04 27 46 57 57.
A doctor will be available to take your calls and answer your questions from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Depending on the reason for your call, you may be offered a teleconsultation with a healthcare professional.
Find out more on SSU Lyon 1’s webpage and/or on their social media (Facebook, Instagram).
This service is open to all Université de Lyon students, regardless of their home institution.
To contact the Université Lumière Lyon 2’s health services (SSU Lyon 2) – Open to all students
To contact the university’s health services (SSU), please send an e-mail to SSU@univ-lyon2.fr explaining the nature of your request and providing a phone number so that the SSU team can get back to you.
E-mails will be consulted from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and the health staff will be available to answer your questions. Depending on the reason for your call, you may be offered a teleconsultation.
This service is open to all Université de Lyon students, regardless of their home institution.
To contact the Université Jean Monnet’s Preventive Medicine Service
Students from Saint-Étienne can contact the Université Jean Monnet’s Preventive Medicine Service by sending an e-mail to the usual addresses listed here.
The institutions’ healthcare services will remain open to help you look after your mental health
The Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion Service, the UCLy health center, the INSA Preventive Medicine Service and the ENS de Lyon health service can all be contacted via e-mail, according to the provisions provided to the students of these schools. A teleconsultation with a psychologist can be arranged if necessary.
Students from the École Centrale de Lyon can contact the infirmary by telephone.
There is no right or wrong reason to ask for help with your mental health
Can’t find your query on the list? Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Whatever your question, healthcare professionals are available to discuss it with you.
A few ideas to keep your spirits up during the lockdown
Stay on track
It is important that you maintain a sense of daily routine. Try and set a daily schedule:
- Avoid sleeping in on weekdays and set an alarm clock.
- Wash, dress and get ready as if you were going to class.
- Eat as normally and healthily as possible at regular meal times and avoid snacking.
- In the evening, do something you enjoy before going to bed and avoid staying up late into the night.
In short, stay on track!
Take care of yourself and make time for yourself
Alternate resting, eating and working periods with time to relax:
- Make time for your own well-being. Many breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation techniques, yoga routines, etc. can be practiced in small spaces.
- Stay active. Exercise whenever possible (in accordance with the current regulations). If you are not able to do so, stand up every two hours and walk around your room, house or apartment.
- Spend some time in natural daylight, get some fresh air, even if only through an open window.
- If you are feeling inspired, get creative.
Stay informed but not overwhelmed: do keep up with the latest lockdown information, but not all day long
- Seek information from reliable sources.
- Just as you have scheduled specific times for work and rest, set a time in your day (or week) to research the latest information and stick to it.
- To avoid disrupting your sleep, try to avoid the news just before going to bed.
What if you have already tried all of the above, but something is still not quite right? Please remember that healthcare professionals are there to help you.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please don’t keep it to yourself: help is available
Social workers continue to provide social support and other forms of financial assistance. To get in touch with the CROUS social welfare service, simply write an e-mail to ssocial@crous-lyon.fr indicating:
- Your institution;
- Your field of study;
- The reason for your request;
- Your phone number(s).
In this particular situation, social workers are doing everything they can to respond to your urgent requests.
