[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] Training as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
From March 2, 2024 to April 26, 2024
Training sessions available in the evenings between 6 and 10 PM and during the day on Saturdays
As part of the 2024 Olympic Games, Lyon and Saint-Étienne will be hosting soccer matches at the Groupama Stadium from July 24 to August 9. Companies are looking for people with security training. To meet this need, the French government has launched a training program, valid for five years, to enable people to work in event security. The Université de Lyon invites its students to take advantage of these free courses, which also pay you to attend.
France Travail (formerly Pôle Emploi) will soon be organizing training sessions* to obtain the Certificate of Professional Qualification in “Private Security for Major Events” (CQP PGSE), which will be adapted to suit students’ schedules: evening sessions (from 6 PM to 10 PM) and daytime sessions on Saturdays, spread over three weeks and two days.
France Travail offers students (even those not registered with France Travail) the opportunity to take advantage of these free, paid training courses. Once their training is complete, France Travail will put them in touch with companies that provide security for sporting, cultural and other events.
There are currently three courses available:
- From March 2 to 30: evening and Saturday training sessions (including one week of online sessions in the evenings);
- From March 30 to May 4: evening and Saturday training sessions (including one week of online sessions in the evenings) plus one week of classroom sessions during the second week of the school holidays (Zone A);
- From April 2 to April 26: standard daytime classroom sessions, open to students who are available.
