[PUBLIC EVENT] “Eco-anxious: where do we go from here?” - an "Agir Ensemble" lecture

Are you concerned about the current climate situation? Do environmental issues keep you up at night and take on a very important place in your life? What can we do to go beyond concern and channel these feelings into change and action? The Agir ensemble (Act together) alliance, led by the Université de Lyon and the Crous de Lyon, invites you to discuss these issues with Camille Étienne, an environmental activist, on March 20, 2024.
The Université de Lyon, the Crous de Lyon, the cities of Lyon and Saint-Étienne, CASDEN Banque Populaire, RESES and MGEN, associated in the Agir Ensemble alliance, have decided to organize an event surrounding eco-anxiety in 2024.
Eco-anxiety can be defined as a feeling of concern, worry, powerlessness, or anxiety that we feel about current environmental disruptions. It affects more and more people, especially young people.
According to a 2021 study by The Lancet Planetary Health, 59% of 16-25 year olds suffer from it worldwide, including 58% of young people in France.
A two-part evening
From 6 PM to 7:30 PM, a round table discussion entitled “Eco-anxious? Where do we go from here?”
- With Camille Étienne, an environmental activist; Cécile Delolme, Director of the ENTPE; Nadège Raffoux, a psychology PhD student at the Université Lumière Lyon 2; a student (to be confirmed).
- This event will take place at the Université de Lyon Auditorium, 90 rue Pasteur (7th district of Lyon), and online (details to follow).
- You must register to attend the round-table discussion in person :
From 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, a forum with committed local organizations (Anciela, FNE, On the green road...) to exchange ideas and identify the keys to taking action at a local level.
- This event will take place exclusively in person (not online) at the Crous de Lyon’s Quais University Restaurant.
