[SIGNATURE] Creation of the new joint TEBLab – Building Thermics and Energy Laboratory

On The March 26, 2024

On March 13, the CNRS and the INSA Lyon, in association with the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and the Scientific and Technical Center for Building (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment – CSTB), announced the creation of a joint research laboratory: the TEBLab, Laboratoire Thermique et Énergétique du Bâtiment (Building Thermics and Energy Laboratory).

A continuum of research for the building and construction industry

Since 2016, the CSTB, the CETHIL (CNRS / INSA Lyon), and the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 have been collaborating in the field of fire in buildings, pooling their expertise to reduce risks and improve building safety. This collaboration has now been strengthened by the creation of a joint laboratory, the TEBLab, which maintains the scientific synergy of the two organizations within one common, unifying entity.

Two areas of research

  1. Combustion phenomena related to fire safety
  2. Assessing and managing the health risks associated with extreme heat events

This work will be carried out as part of doctoral or post-doctoral theses, under the supervision of a researcher attached to one and/or other of the partners behind the TEBLab.
