From January 24 to 28, 2023, the École urbaine de Lyon – Université de Lyon and its partners are organizing the fifth edition of the “À l’École de l’Anthropocène” (Anthropocene School) event, hosted for the second year at the Rize in Villeurbanne.

On December 5, at the Lumière Institute, the Métropole de Lyon and the City of Lyon, together with the Université de Lyon, awarded the 2022 Young Researcher Prize. Watch the video and find out more about the research projects of the four winners and the reasons why they came to Lyon.

The Université de Lyon – via the CER-UdL (UdL Research Ethics Committee) – is hosting the Congress of Research Ethics Committees on December 2, 2022 in Lyon. This one-day event brings together the institutional Research Ethics Committees from all over France (academic, university-hospital and institutional structures) to discuss “Reviewing human research ethics: laws and practices”.

On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the 16th edition of the L’Oréal-Unesco Young Talents Prize - France for Women in Science was awarded to 35 exceptional female doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers. Three of them are from the Lyon Saint-Étienne laboratories.

The Université de Lyon Renews its Framework Agreement with the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences This partnership is based on a joint PhD program that aims to strengthen cultural, research and training collaborations.

The 2021 Scientific Game Jam-Lyon took place from April 9 to 11, 2021, as part of the “La Science Entre En Jeu” (science comes into play) festival. 18 teams of young researchers and game developers took on the challenge of creating a science-themed video game in just 48 hours. Ten PhD students from the Université de Lyon took part in this competition.

The Université de Lyon’s IADoc@UdL project was developed in response to the 2019 call for “Doctoral Contracts in Artificial Intelligence” programs launched by the French National Research Agency (Agence nationale de la recherche – ANR).

The HYBRID IT project was created as part of the PIA 3 (Programme investissements d’avenir 3) call for “Higher Education Training Hybridization” projects. The State has awarded one million euros in funding to launch the project.

For the second year running, the IDEXLYON is launching the ELAN-ERC scheme to support and guide researchers and research lecturers in preparing their applications for the European Research Council’s (ERC) call for projects.

The Université de Lyon will fund research projects with the potential to provide short or medium-term solutions to the Covid-19 crisis. This funding will be provided through the IDEXLYON.

From the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, the entire French research community, from life sciences to human and social sciences, has been working hard to develop effective treatments against the spread of the virus and to assess the social impact of this crisis.
