On The November 22, 2022

On November 22, 2022 the Grand Amphitheater of the Université Lumière Lyon 2 hosted the official ceremony in honor of research talents from the CNRS Rhône Auvergne, during which six Lyon-based researchers received this prestigious award.

Each year, the CNRS celebrates and rewards a number of French “research talents”. From the Rhône Auvergne Delegation, six researchers received the award during a ceremony that took place at the Université Lumière Lyon 2 on November 22, 2022.

Who are the medalists in 2022?

  • Clément Camp, CNRS researcher in chemistry, specialist in catalysis at the Catalysis, polymerization, processes and materials laboratory (CNRS/CPE Lyon/Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1). ► Received the bronze medal

  • Marianne Métois, geophysicist specializing in the deformation of the earth's crust associated with earthquakes at the Geology Laboratory of Lyon: Earth, planets, environment (CNRS/ENS Lyon/Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1). ► Received the bronze medal

  • Aurèle Piazza, researcher in molecular biology, specialist in DNA recombination mechanisms and leader of the Genome Mechanics team at the Cell Biology and Modeling Laboratory (CNRS/ENS Lyon). ► Received the bronze medal

  • Lucile Savary, CNRS researcher in physics and theorist of condensed matter at the Laboratory of Physics of the École normale supérieure de Lyon (CNRS/ENS Lyon). ► Received the bronze medal

  • Frédérique Rozier, biological engineer in the Plant Reproduction and Development Laboratory (CNRS/ENS Lyon/Inrae). ► Received the crystal medal

  • The mirrors built at the Laboratory of Advanced Materials (LMA) of the Institute of Physics of the Two Infinities of Lyon (CNRS/Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1), equip the interferometers of the whole world which track the tiny tremors of the Universe: gravitational waves. For almost 20 years, the engineers and technicians of the LMA have succeeded in endowing these mirrors with optical performances bordering on perfection. ► Received the collective crystal medal
