Student-entrepreneur diploma (D2E)

The Université de Lyon's first diploma, the student-entrepreneur diploma (D2E), supervises students in projects setting up or taking over companies.

The diploma, which was created in 2015 and is led by the Beelys center, helps to disseminate corporate culture among students through a customized training program.

The D2E was created to complement the entrepreneurial promotion efforts of the Beelys ('Boosting Entrepreneurial Spirit in Lyon Saint-Étienne') PEPITE.
PEPITES (Student Centers for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship) are designed to promote entrepreneurial culture and encourage students and young graduates to take action in all areas of their university education.

Target audiences

This university grade-III diploma (L2) is intended for young students under 28 years old holding a baccalaureate or equivalent, with a project setting up or taking over a company or operation, no matter what stage their project is at.

The D2E is available to students on basic training programs (standard & lifelong learning). All applications must be made through the Beelys PEPITE, which will submit them to the approval board and then approve their admission..

The training program

Over several months, students are supported during the creation of their projects. They receive a customized training program consisting of:
  • Face-to-face and online seminars;
  • Events based on setting up companies;
  • Access to co-working spaces.
Each student on the course will be paired with two supervisors consisting of a professional (a manager, entrepreneur, member of the network of company directors or directors from institutions supporting startups) and a teacher.

The training will also enable students to:
  • Acquire skills enabling them to better understand the entrepreneurial process;
  • Make progress in their projects setting up or taking over operations.
