Joint IDEXLYON – PULSALYS call for projects: Tech 4 Earth

IDEXLYON and the PULSALYS SATT are launching a joint call for projects to identify, support and develop research results from laboratories which may help protect the environment.

OBJECTIVE:

The Tech 4 Earth call for projects is intended for projects which aim to transfer their findings to an existing company, local authority, or organization; or to launch a start-up to meet a need related to environmental protection.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • The project must be led by a permanent staff member at one of the member institutions of the IDEXLYON consortium;
  • The project must address an environmental issue and propose a solution to help protect the environment;
  • Projects must have a clear pathway to implementation in the socioeconomic world;
  • Projects must have been approved by laboratory directors.

PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA:

Projects will be selected by an IDEXLYON/PULSALYS selection committee based on the following criteria:
  • The novelty/originality of the project;
  • The extent to which it addresses a socioeconomic need: potential utility for businesses, communities, organizations or the market;
  • The level of sophistication and originality compared to other existing projects;
  • The project’s environmental impact;
  • The project leader’s expertise and involvement in the field and whether the project leader, or the team as a whole, is suited to the project.
In light of these criteria, the selection committee will review all of the projects and, if selected, the project will proceed to:

► pre-maturation with IDEXLYON funding;
► the Pulsalys Investment Committee for the development of the most advanced projects.


DETAILS AND DATES:

  • September 17, 2019: launch of the call for projects;
  • November 22, 2019, at noon: deadline for applications (to be submitted by e-mail to AAP@pulsalys.fr);
  • December 7, 2019: invitations will be sent to candidates whose applications were deemed eligible;
  • January 23, 2020: the eligible project leaders will present their projects to the IDEXLYON/PULSALYS selection committee;
  • Spring 2020: launch of the pre-maturation and maturation projects;
