[ACADEMIC EVENT] The Université de Lyon, partner of the 2023 Entretiens Jacques Cartier

On The October 10, 2023

The 35th edition of the Entretiens Jacques Cartier will be held in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region from October 9 to 11, 2023. The entire program will revolve around a single theme: the France-Quebec Year of Innovation.

The Centre Jacques Cartier is the driving force behind a network linking Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (France) and Quebec/French-speaking Canada. Each year, the Entretiens Jacques Cartier (EJC) event brings together 5,000 decision-makers and professionals who share the common vision that societal progress is linked to knowledge transfer and interdisciplinary innovation. The Entretiens Jacques Cartier event constitutes a laboratory of ideas and a platform for knowledge transfer between France and Quebec.

This year, experts and decision-makers from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Quebec and French-speaking Canada will gather in Lyon, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble and Saint-Étienne for seminars and interdisciplinary meetings as part of the France-Quebec Year of Innovation (AIFQ – Année de l’innovation France-Québec). The Entretiens Jacques Cartier are held in conjunction with the Pollutec exhibition, which will run from October 10 to 13.

This year’s edition will once again focus on four main topics:
  • Health and life sciences
  • The challenges of innovation and new technologies
  • Economic and eco-responsible challenges
  • Society & culture

As part of the 2023 Entretiens Jacques Cartier event, a whole day will be dedicated to student innovation and entrepreneurship, which are closely linked to the strategies of both the Université de Lyon and the Université de Sherbrooke. This day is organized by the Innovation Factory, in partnership with the Lyon Saint-Étienne Entrepreneurship Center and SATT PULSALYS.

In addition to education and research, the public service of higher education has been entrusted with several missions, including the dissemination and promotion of its results for the benefit of society, in response to societal challenges and social, economic and sustainable development needs. The aim of this event is to enable participants to discover the facilities and approaches of the two sites, while also reflecting together on the issues, levers and obstacles encountered in developing this offer, and on the opportunities and resources available to them for setting up joint projects.
