[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] Participate in the 2024 Brain Awareness Week

From September 25, 2023 to October 20, 2023

Brain Awareness Week is organized each year in March by the French Neuroscience Society. This event is an opportunity for researchers, physicians and student volunteers to share developments in brain research laboratories with the general public, as well as to explain the importance of brain research, the challenges involved, and its impact on our society.

In order to prepare for the 2024 edition, the Lyon neuroscience community is launching a call for projects to all researchers, professors, clinicians, students, and anyone else interested in taking part in this event.

A number of cultural organizations (libraries, museums, etc.) have already expressed interest in hosting one or more events, including fun workshops for families/children, arts and science events, and book events (e.g., the release of a popular science book for the general public). Therefore, special attention will be given to proposals that are likely to meet these requirements.

Various themes and formats

Brain Awareness Week encompasses all topics related to the brain, including interdisciplinary interventions (always with the involvement of a neuroscientist or cognitive scientist).

Possible formats:

  • Lecture-discussion sessions,
  • Workshops,
  • Round table discussions,
  • Film-discussion sessions & performances,
  • Student activities,
  • Laboratory visits.

The steering committee offers systematic support in the organization of the event (finding a venue, advice on adapting the content, communication, etc.).
