[RETROSPECTIVE] 12th SLEIGHT Science Event: three days dedicated to "Imaging in Manutech-SLEIGHT"

The Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School organized its 12th SLEIGHT Science Event, from July 8 to 10 in the premises of Telecom Saint-Étienne at the Jean Monnet University, bringing together more than 100 participants around the themes of imaging: computational reproducibility in imaging, phase contrast in X-ray imaging, electron microscopy for in situ analysis and optical microscopy in biology and medicine.
A high-level scientific program covering all Manutech-SLEIGHT themes
In order to provide multidisciplinary outlook to students, six researchers were invited to present their cutting-edge research areas:- Sorina POP (CNRS, Lab. CREATIC, Lyon) - Field: medical imaging
- Emmanuel BRUN (Inserm, Lab. Strobe, Grenoble) - Field: medical imaging
- Renaud PODOR (CNRS, ICSM Marcoule, L2ME, Bagnols-sur-Cèze) - Field: electron microscopy
- Philippe STEYER (INSA Lyon, Lab. MatéIS, Lyon) - Field: electron microscopy
- Ruth SIMS (Inserm, Institute of Vision, Paris) - Field: photon microscopy
- Olivier HAEBERLE (Lab. IRIMAS, Mulhouse) - Field: optical microscopy
Two students rewarded for their presentations and one student recognized for his involvement in the Graduate School activities
Melis COBAN, PhD student at the BiiO laboratory (Jean Monnet University - UJM) and Anthony NAKHOUL, Post-doctoral student at the Hubert Curien laboratory (UJM, CNRS, IOGS) received a prize respectively for the “Best PhD presentation” and the “Best Post-doc presentation” during the “Young Researchers” session.
Sofiane FRAINE, PhD student at the BiiO laboratory (UJM), is the winner of the Manutech-SLEIGHT Certificate which rewards Master's students for their involvement in the Graduate School. 11 Master's students are Certificate winners this year, but currently on internship in France or abroad, they will receive their certificate when they graduate.
Manutech-SLEIGHT will meet at Jean Monnet University this winter for the 13th edition of the SLEIGHT Science Event. The event will be dedicated to all the themes of Manutech-SLEIGHT (SLEIGHT in 2025) and will be held from January 9 to 15, 2025.
