[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes’s “Ambition Internationale” 2024 call is now open

From January 23, 2024 to March 15, 2024

The International Ambition (Ambition Internationale) call for projects aims to strengthen the reputation and recognition of higher education and research in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

As part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 2022-2028 Plan for the economy, employment, training and innovation and the Regional Plan for Higher Education, Research and Innovation (SRESRI - Schéma régional de l’enseignement supérieur, la recherche et l’innovation), the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region has confirmed its support for local higher education and research institutions. It aims to train more engineers, technicians and scientists, to develop partnerships with companies, to support transitions and to encourage students’ entrepreneurial initiatives.

Developing excellence in research and training at international level is essential to meet the challenges of innovation and skills in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Based on this premise, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes ntends to support international cooperation in research and training in its priority areas, particularly in regional areas of excellence.

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Hydrogen
  • Sustainable materials


This aid is aimed at public higher education institutions, institutions that issue diplomas certified by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs (CTI), Grandes Écoles accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), research organizations and University Hospital Centres (CHU) – located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Each project can receive up to €50,000 in operational funding, with projects funded for a maximum of three years.

Selection criteria

In addition to targeting areas of excellence, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes reserves the right to select certain key sectors – included in the 2022-2028 Plan – at the time of the annual call for projects.

  • The project must be fully integrated into the institution’s strategy
  • The level of self-funding provided by the institution based on eligible expenses
  • The quality and credibility of the project’s promotional activities and the regional support provided
  • The clarity of the deliverables with quantified indicators of achievement or/and impact
  • The consistency of the actions implemented, the associated resources and the provisional schedule
  • The quality of the partnership and its relevance to the institution’s international strategy
     

The call for projects will close on Friday, March 15, 2024.
