Governance and bodies

The Governing Board determines the Université de Lyon's policies. It has 41 members: representatives of member institutions, qualified individuals, representatives of businesses, regional authorities and organizations, teacher-researchers, teacher and researcher representatives, representatives of other staff and student representatives.

It is composed of 14 members and is associated with the preparation of the work and the implementation of the decisions of the Governing Board.

The Academic College is the coordination body of the Université de Lyon on training and research. It brings together the vice-presidents and directions of the institutions, and deals with subjects relating to the coordination of the training offer and the research and transfer strategy on the Lyon Saint-Étienne site.

The Doctoral College of the Université de Lyon is the coordinating body of the 18 co-accredited doctoral schools and the 12 institutions awarding the doctorate.
Its main mission is to develop a shared and effective doctoral policy for the benefit of doctoral students and the quality of the diploma.
