The regional final of the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” competition was held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the Université de Lyon’s Grand Amphitheater. PhD students David Lopes (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1) and François-Joseph Billaud (Université Lumière Lyon 2) won the first prize and the People’s Choice Award, respectively, and have now reached the national semi-finals.

On January 22, 2024, the Black Box, the CNSMD de Lyon’s new rehearsal space, funded as part of the French Recovery Plan (Plan France Relance), opened its doors. While the recycling of wastewater is still not very present in Europe and in France, the Life RECYCLO project tackles the problem of the reuse of laundry water. An innovative project that has just taken a new important step: the prototype is under construction at the premises of the Treewater company in Alixan, near Valence (France).

On April 19, departments from the Université de Lyon relating to innovation and entrepreneurship (the Innovation Factory, SATT PULSALYS & the Entrepreneurship Center) took part in a workshop organized by the Université Lyon 2 as part of the TETRIS (TEchnology TransfeR Innovation Schemes in Latin America) project around innovation and technology transfer.

The Université de Lyon – via the CER-UdL (UdL Research Ethics Committee) – is hosting the Congress of Research Ethics Committees on December 2, 2022 in Lyon. This one-day event brings together the institutional Research Ethics Committees from all over France (academic, university-hospital and institutional structures) to discuss “Reviewing human research ethics: laws and practices”.
